Credentials: MS, LAT
Position title: Affiliate Athletic Trainer
Jessy Vlisides has been a certified athletic trainer since 2019. She completed her Master of Science in Athletic Training at Weber State and initially began working as a knee surgical athletic trainer for professional athletes and the general population in Park City UT. She quickly transitioned to professional sports where she found her passion in professional baseball. She was the head athletic trainer for a minor league baseball team out in Utah from 2021-2023 while she simultaneously started working on her PhD in Biomechanics at University of Wisconsin – Madison, focusing on the micromorphology of ligaments and kinematic injury analysis of pitching starting in 2022.
Following graduation, she aims to rejoin professional baseball with an organization in MLB to be an athletic training coordinator and combine biomechanical analysis to athletes to establish post-pitch protocols to protect overhead athletes from preventable injuries.
Her clinical focus is injury prevention and athlete autonomy for the best whole-body injury protection, even with single body movements. Jessy values education and collaboration with patients. Everyone knows their bodies best and Jessy strives to make sure that each individual feels the most competent and safe in their activities with her assistance and knowledge of healthcare. Though Jessy doesn’t have much free time with the amount she likes to keep herself fast paced and busy, she thoroughly enjoys the slower things. Brunch with friends, enjoying water and hikes, camping, farmers markets, cooking and baking, and meeting every dog that walks past her.
