Professional Positions

We practice what we preach. We work hard. We push limits. We move fast. We aren’t afraid to fail, and we certainly aren’t afraid to stand out. If this sounds like you, we hope you’ll consider joining our team.

To learn what it means to be part of our team, we are hosting an online info session on Monday, January 13 at 11am CST. A link to the webinar will be posted here in early January. We also ask that you consider filling out this form to receive email updates about the webinar and submit questions you hope to have answered by our team.

Anticipated Opening: Director

As director, you’ll lead a growing team of 50 professional staff members and 500 student employees and report directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Health & Wellbeing within Student Affairs. Day in and day out, we pride ourselves on living our mission, building community, and “leaning yes” to new ideas. We are a tight-knit group with diverse backgrounds committed to removing barriers, building community, and pushing limits.

Grounded in tradition and driven by innovation, UW is a top-ranked institution and a proud member of the Big Ten Conference. Nestled between 15,000 acres of lakes and more than 200 miles of paths and trails, the University and city of Madison seamlessly blend together. We have been named the #1 Best City to Raise a Family, the Fittest City in America, and we’re home to the country’s largest producer-only farmers market (with plenty of cheeses to choose from). With the events and amenities of a big city and the ease and community of a small town, Madison is a special place with a unique vibe.

At University Recreation & Wellbeing, we’re so much more than a building. We’re building a movement. And we’re looking for a visionary to move with us.
