Looking to ice skate like a true Wisconsinite this fall? You’re covered with Open Hockey, Stick & Puck, and Open Skate at the Shell. All skill levels are welcome at each offering, but here’s some information to help decide which session is best for you:
Open Hockey
Open Hockey is your chance to play pick-up puck on campus. Helmets are required, but if you forget or don’t have your own, you can rent one for $2 with your WisCard. Not afraid to get in net? Suit up and get in FREE (excluding potential equipment rental) as one of the first two goalies to arrive for each session. Bring your friends and sharpen your skills.
Stick & Puck
Have fun and practice while skating stress-free during Stick & Puck. Pick-up games aren’t allowed, so take advantage of the clean sheet to bust the rust or develop your skills. All you need are skates, gloves, and a helmet!
Open Skate
Open Skate is just that, open to all ages and abilities. Come jam to music during our popular themed skates starting September 22 or late-night skates starting in October.
If you plan on being a skating regular, our Skate Pass provides unlimited access to Open Skate, Open Hockey, and Stick & Puck. For $30 a semester or $50 for a full year for students, you can skate ‘til you drop. To purchase a pass, click here or visit the Shell Member Services Office.
We can’t wait to see you shredding the Shell sheet soon. Click here or go to the Shell Member Services office for Ice Skating & Hockey schedules and more information.
