This isn’t your average wellness program—it’s a chance to dive headfirst into a whirlwind of activities that’ll have you smiling, sweating, and feeling fantastic.

Picture this: you’re hanging out with friends at Bakke, catching waves (okay, maybe just some laps) at the SoderhoStudent using the bouldering wall at Mt. Mendota within the Bakke Recreation and Wellbeing Center.lm Family Aquatic Center, or trying out log rolling at the Cove Pool for the first time. Now, imagine doing all that and more while working toward prizes like a limited-edition crewneck sweatshirt or a sleek Nalgene water bottle. 

Around the Rec is your golden ticket to exploring everything Rec Well has to offer. Whether you’re swinging by for a drop-in wellness coaching session, hitting up a group fitness class, or getting your skate on at a theme skate night, all of our Flexes are designed to introduce you to new things you didn’t know were options at Rec Well facilities. Imagine looking back on this semester and realizing you not only had a blast but also dedicated time to support your physical, mental, and social wellbeing. That’s the magic of Around the Rec.

Flex Your Fun Muscles

Choose your own adventure. Want to climb at Mt. Mendota? Go for it! Prefer to join a cooking class or show off your skills in intramural sports? The options are endless, and each one is a chance to connect with other students and take care of your wellbeing at the same time.

And the best part? The more you do, the more you earn. It’s not just about staying active—it’s about having a great time while doing it. Plus, who wouldn’t want to show off their limited-edition Rec Well swag? 

Here’s How It Works

  1. Sign Up: Start by completing the Around the Rec registration form by Friday, November 1. The earlier you sign up, the more time you’ll have to rack up those Flexes!
  2. Get Moving: Choose from a list of diverse Flexes that suit your interests—whether it’s attending a skate clinic, swimming at the Soderholm Family Aquatic Center, or climbing at Mt. Mendota. Each activity is designed to boost your physical and mental health while introducing you to the various facets of Rec Well.
  3. Track Your Progress: Keep an eye on your progress with our tracking postcard, which you can pick up at our welcome desks. As you complete Flexes, you’ll move closer to earning some seriously cool Rec Well gear!
  4. Collect Your Prizes: Completed enough Flexes? Time to reap the rewards! Come January, you’ll be notified by email about when and where to pick up your prizes.
