The FSC of UW is composed of two teams that compete regionally and nationally: the Intercollegiate and the Open Collegiate Synchronized Skating Team. The Open Collegiate team hosts tryouts once a year in the fall, and the Intercollegiate team is open to all skaters who are members of US Figure Skating.
There are 3-4 competitions for each team during the school year. Intercollegiate team competitions are optional, but all members of the Open Collegiate team are expected to compete at every competition. Competing with either team provides a great opportunity to meet other teams – especially other Big10 schools!
Each team has practice 1-3 times per week depending on ice availability and competition needs. Cost for ice time is included in your dues for each team so you can skate as much or as little as you like!
Whether you join our Open Collegiate Synchronized Team or our Intercollegiate Team, you’ll find a supportive, team based environment that makes continuing your skating career throughout college a blast!
