Japanese Karate team in a gym

The UW-Madison Japanese Karate Club practices the traditional Shotokan karate style. Instruction is given from the most basic level and increases in difficulty as students learn the techniques required to control their body and mind. All 3 traditional components of karate training (kata, kihon, and kumite) are taught at the dojo. Participation is open to all students, faculty, and staff.

During the spring and fall semesters, regular practices are Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 – 6:55 PM at Lathrop Hall, Room B101. We also host practices on Saturdays from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at The Nick in Spark Studio.
