The Wisconsin Track Club was founded in 1991 to foster interest in cross country and track and field and to provide athletes of all abilities the chance to train together. Wisconsin Track Club is an official sport club at the University of Wisconsin, and the club has found great success as part of NIRCA (the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association). Prior to university affiliation, WTC adopted the cow as its mascot. The Cows were NIRCA cross country champions in 2008, 2009, and 2023, and NIRCA track and field champions in 2017. Outside of NIRCA, we compete in meets across Wisconsin and the Midwest. WTC also hosts its Summer Track Series each year to promote track and field participation throughout Madison. Wisconsin Track Club welcomes runners, throwers, and jumpers of all experience levels and ability, and while participation in competition is encouraged, it is not required.
