I hope everyone is in the midst of a great summer. My name is Christian Ramirez and I serve as the Intramural Sports Intern for Rec Well. We are thrilled to announce that in-person Staff Intramural Sports are making a comeback this summer! If you haven’t participated before, Staff Intramurals are a variety of events and offerings geared solely to staff members. We aim to provide a variety of offerings to appeal to everyone! Here are the events we have on tap this summer:
Staff Kickball
A staff favorite! Get your squad of up to 10 people and get ready to make some highlight reel plays on the diamond. This is a 3 week league followed by a playoff tournament. Teams can play up to 8 people in the field and can kick up to 10 people. Play begins Tuesday, June 21. Make sure to register your team by June 14th!
Trivia at the Terrace
Cue the Jeopardy Music! While it won’t quite be Jeopardy style, assemble your group of up to 5 whiz kids to meet up at the terrace to enjoy some appetizers and beverages and maybe even answer a few questions right along the way. The date of this event is still TBD. We will let you know as soon as we have a date! Note: Light snacks will be provided but beverages will be on your own.
Staff 4v4 Sand Volleyball
It’s back! One of our most popular Staff IM sport is making a comeback this summer! This is a 3 week league that will be played on Monday & Wednesday from 4:45-5:30p. Following the league will be a playoff tournament. This league will begin on July 11th. All games will be played on the Cole Beach Sand Volleyball Courts.
Staff Curling Tournament
Curling? In the summer? Yep, we’re going there. Teams will compete in duos to see who can finesse the stones the best. This event will be held in the Nicholas Recreation Center on Thursday, July 21.
Staff 3v3 Outdoor Basketball
Here we go! The NBA might be wrapping up, but Staff 3v3 Outdoor Basketball is just getting started. This is a 3 week league that will be played on Tuesday & Thursday 5:30-6:30p. We will have double header games that will be played. Following the league will be a playoff tournament. Play begins Tuesday July 19. Make sure to grab your Dream Team and register by July 12th! This is more of a small sided sport, therefore try to find your team of 3 to participate for this event!

Individuals with a team do not need to fill out a form, the captain will fill out for the entire team. Note: Teams do not have to be comprised of people from just one unit, feel free to reach out to your friends/colleagues around campus! Also, registration spots will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.
