Not everyone knows everything we have available at the Natatorium, and we don’t blame you. We offer a lot of equipment, services, programs and more! Lucky for you, we’ve put together all the facts you need to PLAY HARD. GET FIT. LIVE WELL. at the Nat.
We have the inside scoop on the best times to head to the gym.
There’s nothing better than having the gym all to yourself. If you’re looking to exercise during a quieter time, try working out at the Nat from 10am-2pm. If you can’t fit in a workout before 2pm, don’t sweat it. The Nat is also slower in the early mornings and later at night. If you’re trying to get in some laps at the pool, the earlier you get in, the better. During busier times, we share lanes (which is a great way to meet some new swimming buddies). Check our pool hours to see what works best for you.
Looking to change up to your fitness routine?
Next time you’re at the Nat, take your workout to the Performance Training Center. Open for all fitness levels, the Performance Training Center is a great place to test what your body can do. Another great feature of this area is the opportunity to do Olympic lifting (you just have to test out during walk-in hours). It also contains battle ropes, dumbell and selectorized fitness equipment, turf, tires, benchs, and more.
Ready to work out? Great, we can’t wait to have you.
If you’re looking for a place to change or store your things at the Nat, we have you covered. You can bring your own lock for our day lockers, or rent ours to keep your belongings safe. Forgot your basketball or headphones? No problem. We have a ton of free equipment available for checkout, including basketballs, weight belts, badminton racquets, soccer balls, and more. We also sell a variety of merchandise including racquetballs, headphones, yoga mats, athletic tape, and more. Everything you need in one spot, just stop by the Member Services Desk at the entrance of the building.
How to get around.
Because there’s so much at the Nat, it can be a little confusing to find your way around. If you’re looking for the locker rooms, head straight down the main hallway after you swipe in, they’ll be on your right. If you’re trying to get to the pool, you’ll enter and exit through the locker rooms.
The weight room is down the main hallway to the left. If you hear clinking weights, you know you’re onto something! If you’re looking for the open rec courts, Cardio Court or Queenax, you’ll want to head up the stairs between the men and women’s locker rooms.
The Performance Training Center is a little bit trickier to find, but we have footprint stickers on the ground leading the way. Take a right down the hallway after you swipe in and follow the footsteps to find your way there.
If you’re lost at all during your visit, look for the red signs throughout the building for some directions. Our facility attendants and supervisors are also there to help you out, so don’t be afraid to ask for some directions.
We know, the Natatorium isn’t in everyone’s neck of the woods.
Lucky for you, there are a few ways to get over here. Grab the 11, 80, 81, 82, or 84 bus, which stops right in front of our doors. (You get a free bus pass every semester, so now’s the time to put it to use! Thanks ASM.) Or, grab a B-Cycle and park at the station near the entrance. Coming from a bit further? Park in the parking lot across the street (Lot 62) for free Monday – Friday after 4:30pm or all day Saturday and Sunday.
Now that you’re an expert in everything Natatorium related, we can’t wait to see you here. If you still have any lingering questions, let us know! Not only do we have a ton of ways to connect online or over the phone, but you can stop on by to ask us anything in person.
